The Ladbrokes Inter Dominion Championship returns to Queensland, bringing with it a legacy of champions. Our homegrown superstars like Blacks A Fake and Leap To Fame are synonymous with the series, and we are honoured to bring it back for a further three years as the centrepiece of the Constellations.

*Nomination fees applicable for ALL horses nominated for the series at 30/04/2025 close.
**Nomination fees must be paid by 11/06/2025 or horse will be declared ineligible for the Series.

MINIMUM PRIZE MONEY GUARANTEE

(Co-funded by HRA, HRNZ, RQ and APHRC)

The following minimum prize money guarantee applies to all starters in either the Pacing or Trotting Series

  • $7,500 for Interstate and overseas trained horses*
  • $3,500 for Qld trained horses


* determined by trainers residential address as at close of nominations on Wednesday 30 April and subject to flying with event sponsor IRT if traveling by air and suitable flight is offered by IRT.

RANKING SYSTEM

Horses shall be ranked in the following descending order:

  1. Winners of any Australian Grand Circuit race from July 1, 2024.
  2. Winners of open age Australian and New Zealand Group 1 races, excluding races restricted by class or sex, from July 1, 2024.
  3. Horses ranked in order of entry at the discretion of Racing Queensland Handicappers, in consultation with a member of the Albion Park Harness Racing Club (APHRC), based primarily on form in the last twelve months, including feature races.
  4. The ranking order of horses with no or limited exposed form in the last 12 months may be determined based on form in the last 10 starts.

RISING SUN WINNER

The winner of the $300,000 Rising Sun will be eligible to progress straight through to the Inter Dominion Pacing Final subject to the following conditions

  • Must be a 4YO
  • Acceptance to compete in the ID25 Grand Final must be received by Racing Queensland by Wednesday July 9 at 12pm including payment of all applicable fees.
  • The horse must start in the Kevin Thomas 4YO race on July 12. Should the Kevin Thomas 4YO race not go ahead for any reason the horse must start in another race scheduled on the July 12 program.

 

If the Rising Sun winner takes their spot in the Pacing Grand Final a field of 13 (no emergencies) will be declared.

BONUS POINTS

In addition to points being awarded based on finishing position bonus points will also be offered in each race as follows:
  • Two (2) Bonus points for the horse that records the fastest individual last half.
  • One (1) Bonus point for the horse that records the fastest individual last quarter.
  • One (1) Bonus point for the horse that records the fastest individual last mile.

b) Round Two Heats – The field selection and split will be completely random with each horse selected out of a barrel.
c) Owner, Trainer or Driver splits will not apply in either round of heats.
